ISOSAFE
Biological isolation glove boxes
ISOSAFE isolation glove boxes are a specific type of Category III biosafety cabinet (BSC) ensuring complete protection for the work process, the processed product or the material from bacteriological or particulate contamination from the outside and absolute protection for the user against the possible harmful effects of the substances being processed or handled. These cabinets are perfect for use wherever work operations need to be performed in an aseptically clean or dust-free environment and where the user needs protection from the effects of the substances that are worked on inside the cabinet.
ISOSAFE isolation glove boxes are a closed system characterized by stable pressure in the workspace (negative or positive pressure) and the 100% exhaust of air contaminated with the processed substances. There is no mixing of the air during operation, i.e. the intake and exhaust air do not mix. The work process is 100% isolated from the outside environment and the operator does not come into direct contact with the harmful substance being handled. This is the highest level of work process, user and environmental protection available.
Our isolation glove boxes are characterized by premium processing and, thanks to their unique construction and the use of components and materials from world-renowned manufacturers, they deliver extraordinary reliability, low noise, low power consumption, long filter life and also high filtration efficiency.
ISOSAFE isolation glove boxes automatically achieve ISO CLASS 5 air purity as the standard. The unique design and selected filter mean they meet the demanding air purity criteria defined in ISO CLASS 3, thanks to which they are destined for the most demanding applications.

FULLY AUTOMATED OPERATION
ISOSAFE biological isolation glove boxes are standardly equipped with a microprocessor controller to control a number of advanced functions and ensure the smooth and safe operation of the equipment. Convenient control is facilitated by a 7” full graphical touchscreen display located on the bottom of the front cover combined with the controls located inside the workspace.
All operating parameters (airflow velocity, pressure in the workspace, temperature, humidity, etc.) including filter status and service life are continuously monitored, recorded and shown graphically on the display, thanks to which the user has a complete overview of the condition of the equipment. The monitoring of service intervals and notification of deviations from optimum values and equipment malfunctions are all standard. Operating history and alarms may be displayed at any time as a table or using a transparent chart directly on the cabinet display.
To ensure the proper working conditions in the workspace remain in place, the equipment is equipped with two fans, an intake fan to create an aseptically clean environment in the workspace and an exhaust fan to remove air from the workspace and to create an air curtain. Depending on the filter condition, the system regulates the output of both filters to constantly deliver the preset air pressure to the workspace characterized by the selected mode and to ensure the ideal ratio between both fans.
COMPLETE VERSATILITY THANKS TO A WIDE RANGE OF OPTIONS
Biosafety isolation glove boxes in the ISOSAFE line are completely universal given they can operate in two working modes:
- POSITIVE PRESSURE mode in which the equipment creates positive pressure in the workspace using aseptic purified air. This mode is used to provide complete protection for the work process.
- NEGATIVE PRESSURE mode in which the equipment creates negative pressure in the workspace. This mode is used to provide complete protection for the work process and to protect the user from the harmful effects of the substances being processed.
The user can select between two additional regimes in each mode:
1) OPERATING (NORMAL) - designed for full-time work
2) ENERGY EFFICIENT (SAVING) - designed to provide the most energy efficient operations and to maintain the required conditions in the workspace, even if work must be interrupted.
ISOSAFE isolation glove boxes have a feature that automatically switches them into energy efficiency mode depending on if activity is detected in the workspace. The user may select individual regimes manually on the isolation glove box’s display.
Isolation boxes are produced with two workspace sizes, with a single airlock that is used to insert and remove material or with two airlocks, one of which is used to insert and the other to remove material. The airlocks function as transfer zones. They are intended to prevent the contamination of the workspace when inserting or removing material or the contamination of the workspace during the transfer of materials between the airlocks and the workspace. The airlocks are equipped with sliding trays for the easy transfer of material between the airlocks and the workspace.
Typically, ISOSAFE isolation glove boxes are placed on manually-operated height-adjustable pedestals with storage space. Upon request, isolation glove boxes may be placed on an electric pedestal with a memory function for multiple positions and equipped with a remote control or pedals or a mobile type moving pedestal.
ULPA FILTRATION STANDARD
ISOSAFE biological isolation glove boxes are automatically equipped with the latest generation class U15 high efficiency ULPA filters capable of removing particulate as small as 0.1 µm on the intake and exhaust sides. The class of ULPA filters used in this design is characterized by a much higher level of filtration than standard HEPA filters. If necessary, exhaust air contaminated with the substances processed in the workspace may be connected to an external exhaust duct or the central HVAC system in the building using an adapter on the box. In less demanding applications or when not necessary, the box may be installed without an external exhaust connection. The air exhausted from the workspace in this case is filtered and returned to the space. If enhanced chemical or mechanical filtration is required, boxes may be equipped with an external activated carbon filter or an external absolute filter in the required class. Cabinets are equipped with a G4 class mechanical pre-filter on the inlet to extend the service life of the primary filters.
EXTENSIVE STANDARD EQUIPMENT
ISOSAFE biological isolation glove boxes feature the following above-standard features. Antibacterial safety glass, a UV lamp integrated into the workspace with timed operation, LED lighting that imitates daylight for perfect visibility, electrical sockets in the workspace and enhanced electrical safety with a current protection device are all standard. The system automatically records and displays the operating time for the overall equipment and individually for the filters and the UV lamp.
All doors on the boxes have electronic locks with a graphical indication of their status and acoustic warnings if they are opened by force or if they are not completely closed. Access doors between the airlock and the workspace are equipped with convenient opening and automatic fastening. For greater convenience, the user can control the doors using the display or the controls located inside the workspace.
The cleaning and disinfection of ISOSAFE isolation glove boxes is quick and easy thanks to fully articulated main doors for the workspace that lock in their top-most position, continuous stainless-steel worktop with enhanced resistance to mechanical wear and chemicals, all-stainless work area lining and the special powder coating, which minimizes the risk of contamination and provides higher resistance to abrasion. Chemical pre-treatment and double powder coating (Zn primer + coating in an RAL color) offer enhanced protection for the frame and other parts of the boxes with elevated exposure to corrosion factors.
